Reflection 10

Last class be student be like Hooooooooooooooray !! and Ms Soinim explain and give an extra information about curriculum design and what we need to considerate when design the curriculum . Overall , for this week , our lecturer prefer to asked the students to read the notes from the UNIEC and she want us to  recall back about what we have done learned on first week until last week .Learning environment today can be said to be more relaxed because the lectures over the two-way communication and discussion. In addition , we gain our knowledge by know the theorist who is popular in curriculum .Furthermore, the lecturer has asked us to set up our blog and sent it immediately. At the end of the lesson, lecturer wish us good luck for our exam. !!

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR EXAM  , ECE SQUAD !!

Reflection 9

We did not much talk about the topic discussion but our lecture , Ms soinim asking for our assignment which is assignment one and two. our lecture also told that in week 8 we will present our work of assignment two, to make sure where is wrong about our assignment, she can told us to do the correction before submit. She also told us to submit this assignment (blog) in week 10. Ms soinim also discuss about how to do the second assignment and all the components that must have in second's assignment.

So , I almost forgot about the evaluation the progress of our assignment which it was our project based on group to design and develop a curriculum according to our own field ( ECE ) .
So all students will present their progress of  this assignment. Our lecture, Ms Soinim want to see how far we have done of our second assignment and she also want to see either our work is correct or not. Then our group show our work in front of the class and she told us that our work is okay but in component 4 which is the evaluation our group should give the example and write down the formative and summative based on assessment that we use.

And , I should do some evaluate the progress of our group struggle during this assignment , which we just have 3  members for  this assignment and just 2 of us ( Me and Sharafina) who DO this assessment without any help from the other member. Its kinda weird because , when Ms Soinim ask our group to present , and suddenly she ask us How about our assignment ?meanwhile she didnt do anything or help us.

Reflection 8

CURRICULUM EVALUATION: CURRICULUM ISSUES AND TREND

WHAT IS EVALUATION?

Evaluation is the process or group of processes that people perform in order to gather data and that will enable them to decide whether to accept, change, or eliminate something. Concerned with relative value and statements of worth. Order than that, it is determining whether the expected or the planned has occurred or is occuring in relation to the intended. What i understand about these evaluation is  something that i setup for children like the activity in class i guess whether it is good or not. Other than that, it is also similar on what i do when i provide the lesson plan. Such as the children or i have already achieve the goals or not. My lesson that i provide are effective or not for children or i have already achieve the goals or not. The evaluation also can be informal or formal assessment. Other that that, when we do the evaluation, it should be based on 5 question which is Intrinsic value, Instrumental value, Comparative value and Idealization value and decision value.

CURRICULUM THEORY AND PRACTICE.

All the learning which is planned and guided by the school, whether it is carried on in groups or individually, inside or outside the school. (Kelly 1983)

In Latin curriculum was a racing chariot; currere was to run.

4 ways of approaching or looking at curriculum theory and practice:

  • Curriculum as a body of knowleddge to be transmitted
  • Product
  • Process

Chapter 4

Psychological Foundations of Curriculum

Both processes are essential to curricularists because it is only when students learn and understanding curriculum and gain knowledge and power to use it that the curriculum has actual worth.

Chapter 3

Philosophical Foundations Of Curriculum

WHAT IS PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION?

From what I read on my notes philosophy are more on what people think and translate it into a words or sentences that can help other people in education.
The word philosophy is combination of the Greek word

"Love of wisdom"

Philosophers are people who seek after wisdom and curios about the world always seeking to understand the nature of things. They also, study the others philosopher, from what they study they will come out with a new philosophies and proposing it.

Reflection 2

Reflection 2

We learn about

  • Curriculum Workers - People who work on curriculum engage in many different types of endeavors. They are advised to concentrate on student behaviors in devising objectives for a unit to emphasize appropriate learning experiences rather than simply identifying content to be covered.

  • Curriculum EvaluatorsCurriculum evaluation is historically as rich as education. The evaluation concept is so comprehensive that contains several evaluation activities with the common function of investigating a certain curriculum in a given administrative context.

  •  Curriculum Evaluator RolesTo collect, examine, and assess data for the purpose of reporting on the effectiveness, efficiency, and worth of the endeavors and creations of other curriculum workers. Employed by a private testing service, the central administration of a school district, a government-monitoring agency, a publishing company, or a curriculum development group. Their reports are meant to aid in decision making concerning curriculum materials, student achievement, teacher effectiveness, and school accountability

  • Curriculum Advocates - Curriculum advocates are educators and members of the general public who are concerned about and attempt to influence what is taught in schools and how it is taugh

  • Curriculum Developers intentionally create curriculum materials and strategies for others to use in the instructional arena. The important ideas here are “for others to use” and “instructional.”

  • Curriculum Teorists - examine the philosophical and ideological underpinnings of existing curricula;study how curricula are used, disseminated, created, and evaluated; study the endeavors and intents of other curriculum workers;

  • Teachers as developers .

The role of curriculum worker

The role of the curriculum worker coordination of curriculum planning and development; definition and application of curriculum theory; design and application of curriculum research; and provision of aid in filling in-service needs of staff.

  #Proverbs 3:6

Put God in charge of my work then what I planned will take place !

Everyone has a fire ( goals ) in their hearts for something and it is their goals in life to find it and keep it lit. My fire in my life are become a great teacher and reach as many of my students as possible by making them feels valued and successful at learning.

In addition , setting my goals give me a long term and short-term motivation. It also gives me the confidence to move on and move to the next level in life. I need to achieve higher and Im still working on it ! Progress goals are like small steps that I take to change my attitude and behaviour.

My teaching philosophy.
  • Always be a positive teacher.
  • Always smile and show a good positive vibe’s to my students.
  •  Empowerment through having fun in education.
  •  The more fun we have , the more we learn.
  • Making my student feel valued and successful in learning.
